What to do if

What to do and who to see if you .....

.... have been absent

If parents respond to the automated system correctly, a note is not required the following day. (If parents only phone the school directly then a note is required the following day.) Notes should have the date of absence, reason for absence, you name, class and parent signature clearly written on them. The notes should then be placed in the box in reception.

.... are late

Report to the Rolls office and collect a swipe slip. Bring a note explaining your lateness on the next school day as it counts as partial absence on the roll.

.... need to leave school early

Bring a note from your parent / caregiver, have it signed by Mr Collins, and take it to the Rolls office to collect a swipe slip. Show the swipe slip to the teacher of the class when it is time to leave. On Wednesdays your note must be signed by Deputy Principal. Senior boys who are enrolled in TAFE and need to leave early on a Tuesday must submit a note to Mr Collins and may leave at the beginning of lunch. All boys must ensure that they sign out at the Front Office.

.... have lost some property

Go to the Print Room or Reception.

.... have lost your timetable

See Reception. A replacement timetable costs 20c.

.... have lost your ID Card

See Mrs Harrison (Librarian) who will arrange another card for you. A charge for the new card will apply.

.... are having problems and you want to talk about them

See your Year Adviser or make an appointment with Reception to see the School Counsellor.

.... want to talk to the Deputy Principal or Principal

Go to the office out of class time to make an appointment. If your parent or carerwants to make an appointment, they can ring the school office on 9477 3508.

.... are being bullied

See your Year Adviser or Deputy Principal Mr Collins.

.... are ill

Report to Reception in the Administration block with a note from your teacher.

.... need first aid

Report to Reception in the Administration Block. Do not ring a parent, carer or friend to pick you up from school if you are not well; staff will assess your condition and decide on the best course of action.

.... are out of uniform

Bring a note of explanation from home. Go to the uniform parade on assembly. The teacher in charge will give you a uniform pass. Carry it with you. If you do not have a note from home, you still get a pass from the uniform parade, but your name is recorded and this will contribute to placement on the No Go list. During the day, uniform passes can be obtained from Mr Collins.

.... missed the sport bus

Go to ‘NonSport’room, where you will remain until your dismissal at 3.05pm. You will not be permitted to leave at 2.30pm.

.... arrive at school wet

Report to Mr Collins who may either provide you with dry clothing from the clothing pool or arrange for you to go home to get dry clothing.

.... find that it is raining at recess or lunch time

Go to the Canteen or Palm Court. Juniors are not allowed into the building. Seniors may use rooms 5 and 6.

.... wish to change subjects

See Curriculum Coordinator, Mrs Laffer, for details and a change of subject form. Students who are new at the school and who have a portal user name and password from the previous school should be able to log onto the computers and access the internet using their old credentials. If you do not have an existing portal account, one will be created for you by the DET within 3 days of you finalising enrolment at school. You will then need to follow the instructions for "... forgot your password" below.

.... are new to the school and need a computer account

If you are new to the school but could access the DET portal for internet using a user name and password then you can use the same user name and password to access our school system and internet. If you do not have a user name and password for the DET portal then you need to wait for the DET to create one for you. This generally happens withing 3 days our completing enrolment at the school. You will then need to obtain a password as detailed in the section below.

.... forgot your user name or password

All teaching staff are able to locate your user name and rest your password. You should first try to use your secret question. If you don't know about that then see your teacher. Ms Harrison and Mr Bennett can be very helpful if you are having difficulties.

.... need to change personal details - address, phne etc

Go to Reception and collect ‘Change of Details’ form. Complete and return to reception ASAP. Changes will be added to your orange card and the school data base.

.... need to pay fees or for an excrusion

Money can be paid at Reception before school, recess and lunch. Excluding recess Thursdays.

.... need to obtain a train or bus pass

See Mrs Reeve in the Back Office who will assess your eligibility and give you the appropriate forms to complete.

.... want to drive to school

See Mr Collins and collect a driver’s permission note which must be signed by your parents and returned to the Deputy Principal.
