About Principal's Message

Asquith Boys High School is a boys’ comprehensive public high school in the northern suburbs of Sydney. As such we cater exclusively for the educational and welfare needs of boys. The school attracts boys from a wide area who are seeking a single-sex education, who want to participate in the wide range of programs that the school offers. We specialize in designing boys’ learning activities in the areas of technology, creative arts, sport and citizenship. These activities are carried out in a welfare-oriented and caring school environment. The current enrolment is over 530 students.

In recent years Asquith Boys High School has consolidated its reputation as a leader in boys' education. Many of our successful and innovative programs for boys are being emulated by other schools. Programs such as Rock and Water, Habits of the Mind, Year 7 Personal Interest Project, Whole-school Literacy and Numeracy, Gifted and Talented, Creative Arts Scholarships and the Student Leadership Study are now entrenched in our school culture and provide an exciting array of exceptional learning opportunities for boys. Our community has noticed this and this is reflected in our increasing enrolments. By 2009 we will have doubled our Year 7 enrolment in three years. This is a strong sign that our community is increasingly regarding Asquith Boys as a school where boys thrive.

The school is governed by a School Council and we have a small but very active Parents and Citizens Association. There are positive links with partner primary schools including resource sharing and exchange visits. The school hosts a Saturday School in the Chinese language for interested students. The school is also a venue for Hornsby-Kuringai Community College classes throughout the week. Links with Asquith Girls High School have continued for many years and opportunities to expand these links are always being sought. The school also caters for an increasing number of International Students.

As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2010, Asquith Boys has much to be proud of and we will be continuing our tradition of serving our community and producing fine young men.
